earth observation meteorological radar weather zarr
NEXRAD Level II weather radar data converted into a FAIR-compliant, analysis-ready, cloud-optimized (ARCO) format using Zarr v3 and Icechunk V2. The dataset is hierarchically organized by Volume Coverage Pattern (VCP) and radar sweep, enabling efficient time-series access to polarimetric radar variables without downloading and processing individual Level II files. This dataset has been transformed and optimized for cloud-native analysis by AtmoScale.
New volume scans are added continuously as data becomes available.
NOAA data disseminated through NODD are open to the public and can be used as desired. NOAA makes data openly available to ensure maximum use of our data, and to spur and encourage exploration and innovation throughout the industry. NOAA requests attribution for the use or dissemination of unaltered NOAA data. However, it is not permissible to state or imply endorsement by or affiliation with NOAA. If you modify NOAA data, you may not state or imply that it is original, unaltered NOAA data.
